Our strategy modules put to use skills developed in our Foundational Programme to build personalised field-tested performance strategies. Each fortnight a different topic is covered, with weekly content delivered through on-line 1-2-1 private consultation.
Elite performers are able to maintain control over self-doubts in high pressure situations. The importance of a high level of confidence is often heard. Self-confidence is frequently thought to be extremely important if an athlete is to attain the highest level of their performance.
Be aware of the rewards and benefits that you expect to expereince though participating in your sport. Be able to persist through difficult tasks and difficult times, even when these rewards and benefits are not immediately forthcoming. Realise that many of the benefits come from your participation, not the outcome.
Arousal & Activation
Athletes and coaches often think of 'psyching-up' and 'psyching-down' for performance. Focus on the intensity of your performance, and readiness to perform. Prepare a planned response to upcoming situations or tasks.
Stress & Anxiety
Accept anxiety as part of sport. Realize that some degree of anxiety can help you perform well Know how to reduce anxiety when it becomes too strong, without losing your intensity.
Concentration & Attention Control
Know what you must pay attention to during each game or sport situation. Learn how to maintain focus and resist distractions, whether they come from the environment or from within yourself. Be able to regain your focus when concentration it is lost during competition. Learn how to play in the “here-and-now”, without regard to either past or anticipated future events.
Coping with Adversity
Choking is a major part in every sport. Champions cope better than their less successful counterparts.
